Job hunting
I returned to the want adds this morning, a desperate act, a despicable thing, denoting financial need and wanton desperation. Want adds are a fickle beast, giving one hope and then crushing it in a single paragraph, leaving the reader feeling helpless and worthless in a space of a few seconds, a carefully constructed degradation of one’s self worth and educational background.
A test giver, sounds easy enough, passing an open book exam is a simple task to complete, timing the testees and collecting the tests for grading. Too good to be true? Definitely! It required a bachelor’s degree and experience in administrative test giving among other things. I doubt the giver had to grade them by hand as normally these type of tests are computer driven….
Trucking jobs that pay $900 a week, been there done that and the missing fine print is very important in what you will need to know to make $900 a week…. it is possible, but you may not be able to do it if you are a normal person that actually likes your home and family. Not all trucking companies are bad, some are much worse. Another plus is the cost of getting a CDL, $9,000 for a 3 week course….
There is always a clerk’s job, working with people and a winning attitude is a must, an easy task to continue at $7.00 an hour. That winning attitude and charming smile is hard to keep while losing all your possessions to someone who found a job in collections….
I could be a police officer if I were younger and in better shape. Why is it that a job that will possibly kill you pays less than some jobs that will only wear you out? I made more money working in construction than police officers do with little chance that some mental derelict would try to kill me to keep out of jail. A sad testament to society and our priorities.
Still looking in Florida,
Thomas H.Forthe

Good luck, Tom. I hope you find something soon. Jobs are scares lots of places now.
