Monday all over again…
My day got off to a rip roaring start, the alarm went off and then the power went out! No coffee, no power and no Internet! Fine deal….
It seems the squirrels here are smarter than the utility company, thinking the transformers on the poles a great place to store their nuts for hard times, they keep finding new and inventive ways to open the lids. All the massed intellect at our local provider can’t seem to come up with a squirrel proof solution….
Squirrels one- utility company zero.
We consider ourselves to be the top of the food chain and yet a tiny squirrel can chew right through the links precariously keeping us up there. So much for skull size being the method of predicting intelligence in a species.
I have a dog who has a much larger skull than said squirrel, yet the sound of an acorn falling on a metal roof can cause her to run for the door in terror! I’ll bet those crafty squirrels do that on purpose, laughing up in the tree tops as the lowly dog runs for cover.

Oh Lord! I had rats in my attic, and now one of the recessed lights in the kitchen doesn’t work, and the front porch light is iffy at best.
